This learning space was created to promote education, reflection, reducing projections, and contributing to The Venus Project with an understanding of its background. We rely on the lifelong work of Jacque Fresco to provide context on the origins of these ideas and to understand the thought system that shapes the values and assumptions of The Venus Project. Both are continuously evolving, as Fresco’s ideas serve as a starting point with no final frontiers.

With evolution comes the responsibility to maintain integrity, not by freezing ideas in time, but by staying true to their core while allowing them to adapt. In this context, integrity means holding ourselves accountable to the situation, being humble, and resisting the urge to oversimplify what is complex. It involves engaging with Fresco’s work in ways that honor its intent without turning it into ideology. The world is constantly changing, and the faster it shifts, the more fragile our assumptions become. In times like these, it’s easy to latch onto the first answer that feels right, even if it proves to be flawed. In a VUCA/BANI world, uncertainty is an inherent part of daily life; therefore, having a system that maintains the integrity of the whole while staying adaptable to its context is essential if we are to move forward with greater knowledge and awareness, leading to informed decisions and strong leadership.

Our selection depends on whether individuals are willing to deeply reflect on problems and explore possible solutions with resilience and adaptability. A person determined to learn, grow their thinking, and improve the system.

Course Details

Method: 101 and 201 will be through coursework feedback, higher levels will include prerecorded and live online discussions of coursework

Frequency: Own pace

Average length of the course: 2 (two) years, assuming 8 (eight) to 10 (ten) hours a week (consider whether you are able to maintain this commitment).

Necessary equipment: a working camera and a microphone, a reliable internet connection

Language requirement: C1 English (both Grammar & Vocabulary, and Listening tests)

Materials requirement: purchasing SE course materials

Price (please see FAQs for detailed description): $600 + delivery charges

  • For the materials (Book and access to prerecorded Fresco lectures): $300 + delivery charges
  • For the Mentor (one-on-one and group guidance entirely online), $300 for the entire course up-front from 301 to 501 (the first three lessons on 301 are free).

The Team

Matthew Kahn: Matt comes from a background in electrical and software engineering. He believes the intelligent application of technology is an essential part of creating a sustainable society that maximizes quality of life for all people. Through the Sociocyberneering Education course, he gained a new understanding of how human behavior is shaped, as well as what the future could look like if our social and economic systems are updated based on current science. Now, as a mentor, he seeks to share this perspective with others while inviting them to contribute their own thoughts and ideas.

Theofilos Chaldezos: Theo is a TVP board member. His interests include systems thinking, complexity science, human factors, and adult learning. In addition to his formal responsibilities as Board Member, he has studied Fresco’s work, worked on course formalization, taught the course, created explainer articles and videos, and proofread Fresco lectures. Aiming to develop resilient, future-oriented thinkers committed to safeguarding the integrity of Fresco’s system of thought, assisting in evolving it with intellectual rigor, and contributing to the transition towards a better world.

Filip Ivanov: Filip has extensive experience in the automotive and IT industry and a passion for eliminating repetitive tasks through automation. He first learned about The Venus Project in 2006 and got involved after meeting Jacque during the 2010 World Tour. He organized some of the first study groups on the local level, set the foundation for educational courses on a global level, helped with educating various support groups, and coordinated communications with various external groups. His focus now is on teaching people how to identify behavioral patterns and develop self-checking mechanisms to counter biases. He believes in education before action, and his personal interests are history, politics, science and technology, target shooting, and the occasional relaxing weekend at hot spring spas.

Course Access & Contribution FAQ

Is the course free, or do I have to pay?
  • Levels 101 and 201 are free
  • Levels 301 to 501 are paid
    • Materials bought are for levels 301 and 401.
    • Materials 501 are based on freely available materials.
  • At level 301, you need to purchase the necessary materials to participate without refund options.
    • When it comes to the mentor, the first three sessions are a trial and thus free of charge. If you like it and wish to continue, you will need to pay a total of $300 for the remainder of the course for the mentor.
  • To clarify,
    • $300 + delivery charges for materials,
    • $300 for the mentor.
    • Total $600 + extra delivery charges.
Do I pay one time or in installments?
A one-time payment of $300, plus delivery charges, can be made for the study materials. The one-time fee of $300 for the mentor is made after the first three sessions of level 301.
Do I receive a refund if I decide to drop out of the course?
No! The first three sessions of level 301 are there for you to decide if you wish to continue. The purchase of the study materials is also non-refundable!
Can I apply for the course again after I drop out?
Yes, but no earlier than 12 months from the day you dropped out. Exceptions are made for dire circumstances (Death of a family member or a close friend, Divorce or Spousal Separation, Severe personal injury, Loss of income source, Complex job training).
Do I get any discount for the paid part of the course if I reapply after dropping out?
No! You need to make another payment of $300 and start at level 301.
Is there any penalty for dropping the course?
No, there’s no penalty of any kind if you decide to stop.
What do I get for the free part of the course?
Access to level 101 and 201, and the first three sessions of level 301 (materials, though, need to be bought for 301), which include foundational lectures, introductory reading material, and exercises.
Do you accommodate special learning needs?
Not at the moment. Unfortunately, we do not have mentors who are trained to accommodate special learning needs.
What benefits do I receive for the paid portion of the course?
